You all voted, so on July 4th I dove head first into a huge bowl of brownie batter ice cream! This easy, delicious, and crave-inducing recipe from the Crazy for Crust blog was the perfect treat. You can find the full recipe here. Key Tools and Ingredients
Instead of a post full of photos, I decided to try my hand at video clips. After a crash course in iMovie, I am giving myself a pat on the back for the final product. Final verdict? A++++
This recipe could not have been any easier. As you can tell from my Nationals jersey, we were on our way to an early start baseball game, so needed to leave the house by 10:30. I began everything at 9:45, and popped the ice cream into the freezer by 10:15. It would have taken even less time using the no-churn option. In terms of taste, this ice cream leans heavily into the Very Sweet category due to the condensed milk, so it's best enjoyed in smaller portions if sugar bombs aren't your thing. You could also tame the sugar by adding fewer brownie bits, or less brownie mix. However, if a sugar overload is what you are looking for, don't change a thing. The best part about this recipe though, are all of the possible variations. I am already thinking of fun ways to add different flavors while still maintaining the basic ease and simplicity. Try a different brownie mix, use cake mix and bits instead, or add some crunch with nuts or candy pieces. The sky's the limit!
